Support
Something not working, or something you would like it to do? Tell me on the public issue tracker. It is free, and you can follow what happens to your report.
You need a free GitHub account. The repository holds only the issue tracker: Smart Transcode's source code is not published.
Before you report
- Check the troubleshooting pages. The steps depend on how you run it, so there is one page for each: Linux service, Docker and Podman. Most problems are file ownership (user and group IDs) or GPU access.
- Copy the support report. In Smart Transcode open Settings → Debug, find Report a problem and press Copy support report. It contains the version, platform, ffmpeg and encoders, and the latest warnings and errors.
- Open the issue and paste the report. Choose Bug report or Question or feature request, say what you expected and what happened, and the steps that led to it.
What is in the report, and what is not
The report is plain text you can read before you post it. Folder and file paths and IP addresses are replaced with <path> and <ip>
in the log lines. It contains no media file names, no settings and no passwords. Issues on GitHub are public, so read it through and leave out anything you do not want to share.
Please never post
Passwords, API keys (such as Sonarr or Radarr keys), or addresses you want to keep private. If a compose file is needed, remove anything secret first.
Security problems
If you think you have found a vulnerability, do not open a public issue. On the repository's Security tab choose Report a vulnerability; the report is private.
