Root Folders

The folders to scan and convert. Each one is scanned in full when added, then on the interval below. Its type (TV, Movies or Other) tells the Sonarr and Radarr integrations what it holds; change it with ⚙.

Automatic Scan Interval (Hours)

Root folders are scanned automatically: a full scan when a folder is added, then a scan of new or changed files every this many hours. To rescan a folder right away, use its settings here or the ⋯ menu next to it on the Video or Audio tab.

Downscaling Files already at or below that height

Files taller than the selected height are scaled down. The others are either still converted (for the space savings, without scaling) or left out of the queue.

Resume Batches After Restart Re-queue in-flight batches when the service restarts

When off, any batch that was running at restart is cleared instead of resumed. The UI will still need a manual restart of the queue.

Early Abort on Larger Output Stop transcoding a file the moment its output exceeds the original size

When on, ffmpeg is killed as soon as the temp file grows larger than the source, saving CPU/GPU time. When off, ffmpeg runs to completion before the size is checked.

Convert Regardless of Savings Convert even when it saves no space

Files skipped for an already-efficient bitrate, and files that came out larger before, can be ticked and converted too (they show may not save space). The converted file replaces the original even when it is larger, so the early abort above does not apply. Files already in the target codec are still skipped. Applies to the next file that starts.

Default Audio Language

When a file's only audio track has no language label, it is treated as this language so language and name-pattern selections still match it. Files with several unlabeled tracks are not guessed.

Audio Conversion Priority

Low runs ffmpeg at the lowest CPU and disk priority so the web interface and other services stay responsive while audio is converted. Applies to the next file.

Threads per Audio Conversion

Caps each ffmpeg process. Total load is about this number times "Parallel files" on the Audio tab.

Audio Backup Retention (Days)

Backups of files converted on the Audio tab are marked expired after this many days. No upper limit.

Expired Audio Backups Automatically delete expired backups

Off by default. When on, expired backups are deleted daily and at service start.

Tracks a Codec Cannot Carry Keep the original track when the new codec supports fewer channels

On by default. For example 7.1 TrueHD converted to E-AC-3 becomes 5.1, so the 7.1 original is also kept, placed after the converted tracks.

Server diagnostics

What the server is doing right now: requests still running, recent slow or failed requests, who holds the database lock, and how many worker threads are busy. When a request runs longer than 10 s the server records a stuck-request report with the Python stack of every busy thread (also written to the log). Error messages show a request ID; find it here. Everything is also written to diagnostics.log in the data folder on the server, which is the place to look if this view itself times out.

Clear Database

Deletes all history, scan caches, saved scans, batches, audio scan data and audio history, and empties the database (the tables themselves are kept). Media files are not touched, and audio backups (*.orig) stay on disk but will no longer be listed under History > Audio. Your saved audio presets, the users and the authentication settings are kept. Your saved settings and root folders are wiped too unless you tick the box below. A safety copy of the database is saved to the data folder's backups directory first. Any scan or batch that is running is stopped first.

Authentication

Trusted networks

Addresses or networks (e.g. 192.168.1.0/24) that need no login in the untrusted networks mode.

Reverse proxies

Proxies (nginx, Traefik, Caddy, a Docker gateway…) in front of this server. Only their X-Forwarded-For / X-Real-IP headers are believed; anyone else's are ignored, so nobody can pretend to be on a trusted network.

Docker: with published ports every client may arrive from the Docker gateway (often 172.17.0.1). If “Your connection” above shows that address, add it here only if a reverse proxy sets X-Forwarded-For; never add it as a trusted network, as that would trust everyone. With network_mode: host clients are seen directly.

Unlike the other settings, these are applied when you press Save: a wrong choice here can lock you out.
